Hello
This tale began as a bedtime story I made up for our three girls when they were very young. It was referred to as 'the story' and they were the main characters. Because I was making it up on 'the fly', not all things made sense, however, what was clear, was that they were the stars of the story, and it was a wild adventure that would take them to a whole new world that existed underground, and it all started when a hole mysteriously appeared in our backyard.

After some time of this, I was losing track of the story thread. I'd ask the girls 'and who was that again? or 'and what did they do?', and each time, they'd remember, which told me it was a good story. But alas, it was too much for me wee mind to keep going as it was, so we had to put it on pause - for about 17 years.

Four years ago, circumstances were that I was at a crossroads, and decided if I was ever to finish it, now was the time. With help from the girls remembering how the story went, the game was afoot.

Much of this was written at Fundy National Park. An amazing place of inspiration for anything. And it was exciting to wake up each morning and wonder how I'd write the girls out of the cliff-hanger I put them in the night before!

Now it's finished and ready for you. At least this part. Thanks for waiting. And thanks for reading.
My Story
After graduating from university on the east coast of Canada, I worked for a year as a trucking transportation salesman. A year later I was fired, became a bartender part time, and worked for CBC Radio the rest of the time. A year later my girlfriend (later to become my wife and part of this story) moved to the very fine city of Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan, to teach english. Nine years after that, we came home with our first born (baby Kate) in tow, moved back to the east coast, and after a few jobs started my own marketing company.

Now I help small business owners grow their companies . However, my love for writing started a long time ago, and I've got a few hundred articles for different newspapers and magazines under my belt, as well as a non-fiction humour book on our life in Japan. This though, if my first novel.😊
